Aren’t there a lot of demos? Actually only one, yeah, just one – for those in the Joomla and WordPress open source communities, we know him as Demo – for the rest of you, Mike Demopoulos. Mike’s celebrating some birthday of some significance to him (don’t ask him about his age, he can be shy about it) but he’s been an amazing advocate for open source, an Energizer bunny at any conference, subscriber to all things RobertJacobi.com (of course!), and a great human being who I’m happy to call my friend. Spam his twitter with as much birthday madness as you see fit.

Stop the Bullying
You know what Mike wants for his birthday – to stop the bullying – help support his wish for Human Rights Campaign. I’m proud to have contributed, and so should you.
For my birthday this year, I’m asking for donations to Human Rights Campaign. I’ve chosen this nonprofit because their mission means a lot to me, and I hope you’ll consider contributing as a way to celebrate with me. Every little bit will help me reach my goal. I’ve included information about Human Rights Campaign below.
By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBTQ citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
HRC seeks to improve the lives of LGBTQ Americans by advocating for equal rights and benefits in the workplace, ensuring families are treated equally under the law and increasing public support among all Americans through innovative advocacy, education and outreach programs. HRC works to secure equal rights for LGBTQ individuals and families at the federal and state levels by lobbying elected officials, mobilizing grassroots supporters, educating Americans, investing strategically to elect fair-minded officials and partnering with other LGBTQ organizations.
If you are not comfortable with the partisan aspect of HRC, may I suggest GGP: Gay Gaming Professionals?
The WordPress Gift Exchange
Just this week, Mike has put together the WordPress Community Gift Exchange 2020. I’m getting the feeling he’s all about presents. The limit is $40, and if you get Mike, you can literally get him anything Disney related and he will be thrilled, just saying. He just got my present, a whole gosh darn post dedicated to him.
Get Paid
If you’ve made it this far, one more thing for Mike and anyone using WordPress for invoicing (yes you can), GreenGeeks, Invoicing and You: Getting Paid, WordPress Tools, and Making Happy Clients: “What are the best ways and policies when creating an invoice to ensure you get paid on time?”
